After making perfect circles for patterns, I moved on to unperfected circles for patterns. Not a far leap but definitely a different effect. Again a delicate dance between types and textures of paint, and trying to figure out which ones play well with others.
After playing with paint for a few years I figured I was finally ready to buy in gallons and make some monster pieces. It turns out 6 gallons of paint is actually quite a bit and I'm only now finishing the cans over a year later. This was the first painting in this colour scheme, made on a wood panel, left with a matte finish with its quirky imperfections exposed for all to see!
