Catcher in the Fly | 18" x 60"

kabemade

After making perfect circles for patterns, I moved on to unperfected circles for patterns. Not a far leap but definitely a different effect. Again a delicate dance between types and textures of paint, and trying to figure out which ones play well with others.

After playing with paint for a few years I figured I was finally ready to buy in gallons and make some monster pieces. It turns out 6 gallons of paint is actually quite a bit and I'm only now finishing the cans over a year later. This painting is made on a wood panel, mounted on 1" frame, and covered in a rich layer of Art Resin. Venus Fly Trap is the same-same-but-different version of this one but left with a matte finish.
